"One of the biggest fallacies of the Right is the notion that, without the profit motive, people would become lazy slackers. It's nonsense, obviously: people will always produce what they need. It may very well be true that they would no longer spend time above and beyond that to produce the luxury items that only the wealthy enjoy (a situation that the "$1 = 1 vote" system skews capitalist economies toward); I suspect that's what the Right really fears."
