Nicole Kidman says she had no idea ex-husband Tom Cruise wanted a divorce and she was surprised when he filed papers in 2001.
She told Ladies'''' Home Journal magazine:
"That was a major shock. I always knew the rug was going to be taken out from underneath me at some stage. I didn''''t think it was going to happen in the way it happened. I knew I was going to get hit with something. But I think a divorce, and
the demise of what your family is, is a little death in itself."
Meanwhile, Kidman was allegedly devastated when she found out that Cruise was expecting a baby with new fiancée, Katie Holmes.
She told friends she only found out her ex was expecting his first biological child, who came into the world last month, through the news - despite being in regular contact with Tom.
